Empowering Lives, Enriching Futures
Welcome to Sadhana Institute, a place dedicated to supporting individuals with intellectual disabilities and empowering them to lead more independent and fulfilling lives. Since our establishment in 1996, Sadhana has been a beacon of hope, care, and opportunity for individuals in need of special support.
Our Mission
At Sadhana Institute, our mission is to provide a safe, nurturing environment where individuals with intellectual disabilities can thrive. We aim to promote the holistic development of each individual, focusing on education, vocational training, therapy, and life skills, to enable them to live independently and participate meaningfully in society.
Our goal is to foster inclusivity and improve the quality of life for individuals with intellectual disabilities, while also raising awareness about their rights and potential in society.
Our History
Sadhana Institute was founded in 1996 by a group of passionate professionals who recognized the need for specialized care and support for individuals with intellectual disabilities. Starting with just two students, we have grown to serve 182 children and adults, offering a comprehensive range of services including residential care, education, and vocational training.
Over the years, we’ve expanded our reach, opening a rehabilitation center in the rural village of Tekulasomaram, in the Yadadri Bhongir district of Telangana, to serve more individuals in underserved communities.
Our Vision
We envision a world where individuals with intellectual disabilities are accepted, respected, and empowered to lead lives of dignity and self-reliance. Through our programs, we strive to create an inclusive society where everyone has equal access to education, vocational training, and social integration.
We aim to extend our services to more rural areas and continue to raise awareness about the importance of inclusive care, education, and community participation for individuals with intellectual disabilities.
Our Work
Transforming Lives, Building Futures
At Sadhana Institute, we are dedicated to empowering individuals with intellectual disabilities. Our efforts focus on education, care, and rehabilitation, fostering independence and enabling individuals to integrate confidently into society.
Day-Care and Residential Services
We provide a secure and nurturing environment for boys and girls with intellectual disabilities at our facilities in Nacharam, Hyderabad. Separate accommodations ensure personalized care, while shared dining spaces create a sense of community. Our dedicated team offers compassionate support, ensuring every individual feels valued and included.
Tailor-Made Education Programs
Our education programs are designed to meet the unique needs of each individual. Students learn essential life skills such as dressing, personal hygiene, and eating, along with fundamental concepts like time and color recognition. These programs are aimed at enhancing their daily independence and preparing them for a fulfilling life.
Therapies for Holistic Development
Therapies play a vital role in the growth and well-being of our students. Yoga sessions promote physical and mental health, speech therapy enhances communication, and physiotherapy addresses specific physical challenges. These interventions are tailored to the needs of each individual, ensuring comprehensive development.
Vocational Training for Older Students
Older students who are ready for the next step receive vocational training to prepare them for productive roles in society. They are taught skills like vegetable gardening, leaf cup making, and the small-scale production of items such as papads and pickles. These skills help them contribute meaningfully to their communities and lead more self-reliant lives.
Rural Rehabilitation Initiatives
To expand our impact, Sadhana has established a rehabilitation center in Tekulasomaram, Yadadri Bhongir district. This center extends services to underserved rural areas, providing training in self-help skills and vocational trades. By reaching these communities, we help bridge the gap in access to care and resources for individuals with intellectual disabilities.
Residential School for the Deaf
We have successfully completed a residential school project at our rural center, providing education to 42 underprivileged deaf children up to Class V. This initiative ensures that children with hearing impairments have access to quality education and opportunities for growth.
