At Sadhana Institute,

Our mission is driven by a deep commitment to empower individuals with intellectual disabilities and to create a more inclusive, compassionate society. Since our inception in 1996, we have worked tirelessly to provide specialized care, education, and vocational training for individuals with intellectual disabilities, enabling them to live independent and meaningful lives.

Our mission is not just about providing basic services but about fostering holistic development, independence, and community integration for each individual we serve. We believe that every person, regardless of their abilities, has the potential to contribute to society and deserves equal opportunities to lead a life of dignity and respect.

Our Mission

At Sadhana Institute, our mission is to provide a safe, nurturing environment where individuals with intellectual disabilities can thrive. We aim to promote the holistic development of each individual, focusing on education, vocational training, therapy, and life skills, to enable them to live independently and participate meaningfully in society.

Our goal is to foster inclusivity and improve the quality of life for individuals with intellectual disabilities, while also raising awareness about their rights and potential in society.

Our History

Sadhana Institute was founded in 1996 by a group of passionate professionals who recognized the need for specialized care and support for individuals with intellectual disabilities. Starting with just two students, we have grown to serve 182 children and adults, offering a comprehensive range of services including residential care, education, and vocational training.

Over the years, we’ve expanded our reach, opening a rehabilitation center in the rural village of Tekulasomaram, in the Yadadri Bhongir district of Telangana, to serve more individuals in underserved communities.

Our Vision

We envision a world where individuals with intellectual disabilities are accepted, respected, and empowered to lead lives of dignity and self-reliance. Through our programs, we strive to create an inclusive society where everyone has equal access to education, vocational training, and social integration.

We aim to extend our services to more rural areas and continue to raise awareness about the importance of inclusive care, education, and community participation for individuals with intellectual disabilities.

Our Work

Transforming Lives, Building Futures

At Sadhana Institute, we are dedicated to empowering individuals with intellectual disabilities. Our efforts focus on education, care, and rehabilitation, fostering independence and enabling individuals to integrate confidently into society.

Therapies for Holistic Development

Therapies play a vital role in the growth and well-being of our students. Yoga sessions promote physical and mental health, speech therapy enhances communication, and physiotherapy addresses specific physical challenges. These interventions are tailored to the needs of each individual, ensuring comprehensive development.

Vocational Training for Older Students

Older students who are ready for the next step receive vocational training to prepare them for productive roles in society. They are taught skills like vegetable gardening, leaf cup making, and the small-scale production of items such as papads and pickles. These skills help them contribute meaningfully to their communities and lead more self-reliant lives.

Promoting Independence and Self-Reliance

One of the core objectives of our mission is to foster independence and self-reliance in individuals with intellectual disabilities. We believe that every person has the capacity to learn, grow, and make meaningful contributions to society. Our programs are designed to provide the necessary tools and skills to help individuals function as independently as possible in their daily lives.

Through customized educational programs, vocational training, and life skills development, we help our students gain the confidence and abilities to live autonomously. Whether it’s learning basic life skills such as dressing, eating, or managing time, or gaining vocational skills like vegetable gardening or food production, we are committed to creating opportunities for self-sufficiency.

Creating Inclusive Communities

We are driven by the belief that every individual, regardless of their disability, deserves to be part of a supportive, inclusive community. Our mission is not only to provide individualized care but also to foster a more inclusive society where individuals with intellectual disabilities are accepted and valued for who they are.

Through advocacy, awareness programs, and community engagement, we work to break down the barriers of ignorance and prejudice that often surround intellectual disabilities. We aim to educate society on the importance of inclusion, urging communities, schools, workplaces, and governments to create environments that provide equal opportunities for all.

Fostering Independence Through Education and Skills Development

We firmly believe that education is a key factor in promoting independence for individuals with intellectual disabilities. At Sadhana Institute, our mission involves creating educational programs that are personalized and adaptive to each student’s abilities. Through these programs, we aim to equip individuals with the life skills, knowledge, and tools necessary to function independently on a day-to-day basis.

Our educational approach is designed to be interactive and hands-on, focusing on essential life skills such as personal hygiene, time management, social behavior, and basic literacy and numeracy. By providing a supportive and engaging learning environment, we empower students to achieve their fullest potential and build the confidence to navigate the world around them.

Holistic Development of Every Individual

At Sadhana Institute, we believe in the holistic development of each individual. Our mission is to cater to the physical, emotional, social, and intellectual needs of people with disabilities. This balanced approach ensures that our students are not only equipped with the practical skills necessary for independence but are also supported emotionally and socially, helping them build self-esteem, confidence, and a sense of belonging.

Our programs include therapeutic services such as physiotherapy and speech therapy, which focus on improving the physical well-being and communication abilities of our students. Additionally, we offer opportunities for socialization through outings and excursions, where students can interact with the community and practice social skills in real-world settings. These efforts contribute to the emotional and social well-bein

Providing Equal Opportunities for All

Sadhana Institute is committed to providing equal opportunities for individuals with intellectual disabilities, particularly in underserved communities. We recognize that access to quality education, care, and vocational training is often limited in rural areas, and we strive to bridge this gap by expanding our services to remote regions.

Through our Rural Rehabilitation Center in Tekulasomaram, we extend our reach to individuals in rural Telangana, offering them the opportunity to acquire essential life skills, learn vocational trades, and improve their quality of life. Our mission is to ensure that people with intellectual disabilities, regardless of their location or background, have access to the same opportunities for growth and development as those in urban areas.

Empowering Through Vocational Training

As part of our mission to empower individuals with intellectual disabilities, we place a strong emphasis on vocational training and skills development. Through our specialized vocational programs, we teach students valuable skills that can help them secure employment, support themselves, and contribute to their families and communities.

Our vocational training covers a wide range of skills, from vegetable gardening and leaf cup making to food production. These programs not only provide practical, marketable skills but also give students a sense of purpose, pride, and accomplishment. By equipping individuals with the tools they need to succeed in the workforce, we support them in becoming active and productive members of society.

Advocating for Rights and Dignity

Our mission also focuses on advocating for the rights and dignity of individuals with intellectual disabilities. We firmly believe that every person, regardless of their abilities, deserves to live a life of dignity, free from discrimination or exclusion. Our advocacy efforts aim to influence policies and create a legal framework that protects the rights of people with intellectual disabilities and ensures their full participation in society.

We work closely with families, communities, and local organizations to raise awareness of the challenges faced by individuals with disabilities and the importance of protecting their rights. Our goal is to create an environment where people with intellectual disabilities are respected, empowered, and given equal opportunities to thrive.

Expanding Our Reach to Rural Areas

As part of our broader mission, we strive to reach individuals in underserved and rural areas who may not have access to the same resources and opportunities. We believe that everyone, regardless of where they live, deserves access to care, education, and support.

In addition to our main center in Nacharam, we have expanded our services to rural areas through our rehabilitation center in Tekulasomaram, located in Yadadri Bhongir district. This center serves individuals with intellectual disabilities in these rural communities, providing them with the same high-quality care and vocational training that we offer in urban areas. Our mission is to ensure that no individual is left behind, regardless of their location.

Raising Awareness and Advocacy

A significant part of our mission involves advocating for the rights of individuals with intellectual disabilities. We aim to raise awareness about the challenges faced by this community and to promote greater understanding and acceptance in society. Through various outreach efforts, including workshops, campaigns, and community events, we strive to challenge misconceptions and highlight the potential of individuals with intellectual disabilities.

At Sadhana Institute, we actively engage with local governments, educational institutions, and the broader community to advocate for better policies and support for individuals with disabilities. Our mission is to create a world where people with intellectual disabilities are fully recognized, supported, and included in all aspects of life.

Building a More Inclusive Society

Ultimately, our mission is centered around the belief that inclusion is key to a better, more compassionate world. We envision a society where individuals with intellectual disabilities are not seen as different or inferior, but as equal members of the community. Through our work, we aim to create a culture of inclusivity, where everyone has the opportunity to thrive, contribute, and lead a fulfilling life.

By providing quality care, education, vocational training, and advocacy, we work to ensure that individuals with intellectual disabilities are not excluded from society but instead have access to the same opportunities as anyone else. We believe that together, we can build a world where everyone is valued and supported.
